BEHIND THE FORMULA
Built on evidence.
Reviewed by professionals.
From peer-reviewed research to veterinary review to independent lab testing, the four-checkpoint chain every KOPO formula passes.
40 products
from the top of the market researched, ingredient by ingredient, before we wrote our first formula.
2 jars
instead of a confusing wall of SKUs. Dental care plus complete daily nutrition that’s the whole line.
1 rule
if we wouldn't give it to our own dogs, it doesn't go in the jar. No exceptions, no asterisks.
The problems we built KOPO for
If you can't kiss your dog, something's wrong.
These are the three problems that made us start a company, and the two jars that
answer them.
Dog breath isn't “just dog breath.”
Dogs no longer clean their teeth on bones; soft food lets plaque and tartar build until gums inflame. By age 2, most dogs already show dental disease, and a veterinary cleaning under anesthesia runs $2,000–3,000. A daily scoop costs about a dollar.
Dental Powder · the correction →
“Natural” labels hiding synthetic vitamins.
When a label lists "Vitamin A," that vitamin was made in a lab, even when the front of the jar says natural. Your dog's body was built to pull nutrients from food. So that's what we put in the jar: liver, heart, carrot, spinach, blueberry.
Multivitamin · the prevention →
Kelp-heavy dental powdersoverload iodine.
Most dental powders are essentially seaweed in a jar. Kelp works on plaque, but daily megadoses of iodine can strain your dog's thyroid over the years. We capped the kelp and added CoQ10, probiotics, and berry polyphenols to do the rest of the job safely.

HOW KOPO FORMULAS ARE BUILT
Research first. Marketing last.
Every KOPO formula starts with the scientific literature and the competitive landscape, and ends with a label we can defend line by line. The approach is holistic: support the dog’s own systems, never override them.
PRINCIPLE 01
Evidence-backed ingredients only
Green-lipped mussel for joints, CoQ10 for gums, PAC-rich cranberry against plaque adhesion, taurine and L-carnitine for the heart, every active is chosen from published research, not from what's cheapest per kilo.
PRINCIPLE 02
Doses that match the evidence
An ingredient at a token dose is marketing, not nutrition. We publish every milligram so you, and your vet, can check our work against the research.
-
PRINCIPLE 03
Safety margins by design
Kelp capped at 120 mg to keep daily iodine in the safe zone. No added calcium in the multivitamin, deliberately, because most dogs already get enough, and excess harms large-breed puppies.
PRINCIPLE 04
Whole food over isolates
Real food instead of synthetic vitamins: nutrients arrive in the forms and ratios a dog's body evolved to absorb, from liver, heart, vegetables, berries, and salmon oil, not laboratory isolates wearing a "natural" label.
THE REVIEW CHAIN
Four checkpoints before anything reaches a bowl.
Each stage can send a formula back to the previous one. Nothing skips a step to hit a launch date.
-
LITERATURE REVIEW
Published research
Formulation begins with peer-reviewed studies on each candidate ingredient, efficacy, dosing, and safety in dogs specifically.
-
VETERINARY REVIEW
Licensed veterinarians
Formulas are reviewed by licensed veterinary professionals for safety, interactions, and appropriate dosing across breeds and life stages.
-
MANUFACTURING QA
GMP production
Made in a GMP-certified, FDA-registered U.S. facility with full lot traceability and documented quality controls.
-
INDEPENDENT LAB
Third-party testing
Every batch is verified by an independent laboratory before release, purity, potency, and safety.
Certificates on request. GMP, FDA-registration, and Made-in-USA manufacturer certificates, plus batch lab results, are available to any customer, vet, or retailer who asks — just email us.
EVIDENCE, INGREDIENT BY INGREDIENT
Why this ingredient, at this dose.
The actives that cost us margin, and the published reasoning behind each one. Compare it against any jar in the category.
ACTIVE
WHAT THE EVIDENCE SAYS
Green-Lipped Mussel
MULTIVITAMIN
The whole-food source of glucosamine, chondroitin, and rare omega-3s for canine joints. Synthetic glucosamine HCl costs a fraction; this works better.
Coenzyme Q10
DENTAL
Supports gum tissue and periodontal function. Absent from competing dental powders for one reason: price.
Cranberry (PAC-rich)
DENTAL
Proanthocyanidins interfere with bacterial adhesion, so plaque has a harder time sticking to the tooth in the first place — a mechanism kelp does not have.
Kelp, capped
DENTAL
Effective against plaque and tartar, but naturally iodine-rich. Capped deliberately so cumulative daily iodine stays conservative for the thyroid.
Taurine & L-Carnitine
MULTIVITAMIN
The two nutrients canine cardiology keeps returning to for heart function and muscle energy — routinely shortchanged by processed diets.
ProbioSEB CSC3
BOTH JARS
Three Bacillus strains plus prebiotic fiber, dosed across the pair to support both the oral and gut microbiome without stacking.
Not a token dose in the list. An ingredient at a marketing dose is worse than no ingredient — it costs you money and buys nothing.
WHAT WE LEFT OUT
The decisions that cost us margin.
A formula is defined as much by what it refuses as by what it contains. Four things we said no to.
-
No proprietary blends
A blend name hides the doses inside it. Every KOPO ingredient is listed with its own milligram figure, which means we cannot quietly cut an expensive active later.
-
No synthetic vitamin isolates
Cheaper, easier to hit a spec sheet with, and standard in the category — including on jars that say "natural." We use food instead and let the label read honestly.
-
No added calcium in the multivitamin
It would look good on a label. But most dogs already get enough, and excess calcium harms large-breed puppies, so a vet should dose it per meal instead.
-
No launch-date shortcuts
Six more dog formulas are in development and none ships until it clears all four checkpoints. Slow is the point; the alternative is a jar we cannot defend.
Use it daily for a month. If you don't see fresher breath, better energy, or a happier dog, email hello@kopopet.com and we'll refund your first order, empty jar and all.
Read the labels. We wrote themfor that.
The full-disclosure ingredient ledgers for both formulas are published on
every product page — every ingredient, every milligram, every reason.
